Clinic policies

our pledge

Our pledge is to deliver an exceptional, friendly and professional service and provide you with the best in natural health care. Your treatment will be provided in a calm and relaxing environment. Our experience tells us that there are some key areas we need to focus on to ensure that you receive the greatest benefit from our service, and we always welcome feedback on your experience.

Remember that healing and treatment can take time and each individual heals and recovers at a different rate. If at any time during your care, you do not feel that you are responding as well as expected we would ask that you discuss this with your practitioner, Vaughn Ryan. We want you to get the most from your care at Vaughn Ryan Acupuncture & Wellbeing.

Excellence in Natural Health Care

Vaughn Ryan is university qualified and a registered practitioner with Australia's peak Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine body, AACMA. In order to continue to provide the best, most up to date care available, Vaughn Ryan is sometimes required to attend conferences and seminars. To keep your progress on schedule we will attempt to book your appointment around those times or alternatively provide another highly qualified practitioner to continue your care.

Fees and your account

Your treatment fees are due at the time of service. HICAPS and Eftpos facilities are available at the clinic for automatic claiming through all major health funds.

The greatest compliment that we can receive is a referral of a friend or family member. The referral of your friends and family is much appreciated as it will both set them on the road to recovery and wellbeing, and plays a vital role in the success of this business and keeping our prices competitive.

Appointment and scheduling

Vaughn will outline a recommended wellness plan tailored to your individual needs. You will achieve the maximum results when you keep your recommended plans to this schedule. Therefore, to receive the most out of your care and to ensure you secure your preferred booking, we ask that you schedule your appointments in advance.

Missed appointments and cancellation policy

Missed appointments will set you back in your health goals, so we ask that wherever possible you keep all of your appointments. If an appointment must be changed, 24 hours notice is required.

If less than 6 hours notice is given for a cancellation, a cancellation fee of 50% of your treatment cost will be charged. We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable, and consideration will be given when necessary.

Your privacy

Vaughn Ryan Acupuncture is committed to protecting your privacy. In accordance with the new Privacy Act, all information relative to your case and circumstance is held in total confidence.

Your personal information will not be passed onto any third party, except if required by law. Your consent is necessary, if relevant information regarding your case is to be sent to other medical and healthcare practitioners associated with your treatment plan.

chinese herbal medicine and illegal wildlife parts

Vaughn Ryan Acupuncture & Wellbeing is committed to protecting the environment, and is an accredited member of the Endangered Species Certification Scheme (ESCS).

As a committed member of AACMA, I am opposed to the medical, cosmetic or other use of illegal products derived from endangered species. There are many plant based herbal alternatives, that are more effective, and we believe there is no justification for the use of illegal products - particularly animal products - in our Chinese Herbal Medicine.

The purpose of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Endangered Species Scheme (ESCS) is to:

Raise the level of awareness, education and compliance with the legal requirements associating with the international wildlife trade;

Recognise professionals and traders involved in the ethical research, recommendations, prescription, supply, export or import of Chinese Medicines

Provide a credible mechanism to acknowledge and support professionals to publicly promote that they do not use or support the use of medicines containing illegally traded wildlife ingredients.
